Meet the Bowman Brothers
About us
From humble beginnings and family roots in Greenford, Ohio, Bowman Brothers BBQ & Catering has grown from a love of good food, good people, and barbecue done the right way. Every recipe, every sauce, and every catered meal reflects our commitment to hard work, honest flavor, and continuous improvement.
Whether we are smoking pulled pork, building the perfect brisket, testing a new rub, or bottling one of our small-batch BBQ sauces, we believe great food is built through patience, teamwork, and pride in the process.
We are passionate about what we do, grateful for the people we serve, and excited to share our story — and our barbecue — with you.

Buzz’s full story is coming soon. What we can say now is this: he shares the same love for barbecue and is always working with brines, rubs, seasonings, and injections to help make Bowman Brothers BBQ something we are proud to serve.
Greenford Roots
My story started in 1970 in Salem, Ohio. I grew up mostly in Greenford, attended South Range Schools, and graduated from South Range High School in 1988. Before that, I earned my Eagle Scout in 1986 — something that helped shape my work ethic, my respect for service, and the way I try to approach life.
After high school, I attended the University of Akron before becoming a heavy equipment operator for BFI. That job led to a long career in the waste industry, a business that took me all over the country. Over the years, I lived and worked in Ohio, Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, Kentucky, and even had an office in Montana.

Where the Love of Food Began
My mom has always been a fantastic home cook. She worked in the cafeteria at South Range, spent time in the catering business, and has always had a gift for making food people remember. She is a big reason I developed a passion for cooking, serving others, and creating meals that make people feel welcome.
Over time, I found my own love for barbecue. I enjoy the process — the patience, the smoke, the seasoning, the testing, and the satisfaction of serving food that makes people stop and say, “That’s good.” I have won a baked bean competition and a chili cook-off, but more than anything, I enjoy creating recipes that bring real flavor to the table.
That same passion led to our BBQ sauces.
Bowman Brothers sauces were created the way good barbecue should be — tested, adjusted, and built with purpose. From the apple-forward flavor of our Haus Orchard Apple BBQ Sauce to the rich, bold character of our Honey Maple Bourbon BBQ Sauce, every bottle reflects our love for small-batch flavor and honest food.
My brother, Buzz, found the same love for barbecue. He is always experimenting with brines, seasonings, rubs, and injections. Together, we have built a style of barbecue we are proud of — pulled pork, brisket, and backyard classics made low and slow, with no shortcuts.
Striving for an experience
Together, we want our customers and their guests to enjoy more than just great food. We want them to have an experience — the kind of meal where people relax, laugh, share stories, and make new memories.
For us, barbecue has always been about more than smoke, sauce, and seasoning. It is about bringing people together around the table and serving food made with care.
